GD School is based on the ideology and principles of the eminent scientist and industrialist, Sri G.D. Naidu. It is the brain child of Mr. and Mrs. G.D Gopal who were motivated and guided by Mr. & Mrs. Fowler, educationists in their own right.
From a humble beginning as Alda Fowler Nursery School in 1982 with 16 students, it has grown steadily into G.D. School with 920 students, 60 Teaching Staff, 12 ECA staff and 6 non-teaching staff. A class strength of 30 students from I to X is strictly adhered to, to ensure individual attention and efficient teaching. The higher secondary classes have Computer Science, Biology, Commerce streams.
While academics is the most important aspect of school curriculum, the teaching as well as non - teaching staff are equally dedicated to the all round development of every child. Value education and extra-curricular activities such as yoga, aerobics, cookery, classical dance and music, western dance, band, Cubs and Bulbuls (IV & V), Scouts & Guides (VI - X), National Service Scheme (XI-XII), Heritage Club, Eco club DNA club, Personality development and Good grooming classes, attempt to draw out the best in each child.
This emphasis on holistic education has ensured that the students of G.D are achievers in every sphere. When they leave their Alma mater they are geared to face the world with courage confidence and humility, holding high the values of honesty and integrity, an abiding love of their motherland and concern for their less fortunate brethren.
